He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jose Chaves Tavares (Maria Carmo) and Maria Noemia Tavares. He is survived by: his wife Maria Alcina Tavares; his children, Helder Tavares (Nancy) and Sandra Tavares; and his grandchildren, Haley and Braeden Tavares. He is also survived by his extended family and friends.
