Elizabeth Sheila Scrimshaw Obituary

Betty passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born in Bell Island NFLD and later moved with her family to Harbour Grace. Betty became a Registered Nurse. A career of which she was very proud and enjoyed. She met her husband Robert (deceased in 1992) and moved to Cambridge, Ontario where she continued nursing until retirement. In her later years Betty enjoyed Knitting, puzzles, watching the Toronto Blue Jays and Leaf's games as well as reading in the sunshine on her balcony.

Betty is survived by her children John (Lisa), Paul (Lucy), and her grandchildren Michael, Amanda, Erin, and Clinton. She is predeceased by her parents John and Katherine Farrell, and her siblings Bernard (Eileen), Tom, Marguerite (Walter) Stone, and Irene (Gerald) Neary. Also survived by her sister-in-law Buelah, and several nieces, nephews and relatives in NFLD.

Cremation, and a private family memorial /interment to take place, where she will be buried alongside her beloved husband Bob in Mount View cemetery Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, Donations to the Cambridge Memorial hospital where Betty nursed for many years would be appreciated by the family.

We would also like to thank her long-time neighbours and friends at her residence for their much-appreciated kindness in Betty's later years.
