She was predeceased by : her parents, Mabel Harding and William Henry Harding (Stewart). She is survived by : her children, Susan (Dennis Cristofani) and Richard (Michael Mitchell); and her granddaughters, Jennifer (Sean Christensen) and Rachel.

In lieu of flowers and a funeral, the family would appreciate donations in Ellen's name to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (Grand River Hospital Foundation) or Juravinski Cancer Centre (Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation).
