He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Smith and Moses Smith; his siblings, Betty Sheppard and Wallace Smith; and his brother-in-law Harry Richards.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Smith; his children, Grant Smith (Jenn) and Laurie Ann Smith; his grandchildren, Ayden, Zach and Alex; his siblings, Freeman Smith (Eileen), Geraldine Richards and Terry Smith; and his brother-in-law Harris Sheppard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the Diabetes Canada.
