He was predeceased by: his parents, Reginald Hyde and Marion Hyde. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Lisa, Lori (Deryck), Barry (Jennifer) and Chris (Christine); his sister Doris (Peter); his grandchildren, Alex (Jessica), Michael (Amanda), Erin (Rocco), Zachary, Hailey (Ethan), Dylan, Liv (Sarah), Steph (Andrew), Nicolas, Kevin, Ronnie and Elliott; his great grandchild Celine; and his pets, Dusty, Jake, Lady, Meg and Jesse.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lounsbury Funeral Home (1766 Franklin Blvd, Cambridge, ON N3C1N8). A memorial service was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or Salvation Army in Herb's memory.
