He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Maria Evelina Chaves; his children, Maria Odete (Joe), Joe Chaves (Ilda), Tony Chaves and Peter Chaves (Kelly); his grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer), Kevin, Shelley (John), Marisa, Julie, Ashley and Rebecca; his great grandchild Abbygail; and his siblings, Antonio (Maria Helena), Maria (late Manuel), Silvino (Maria Ines), Daniel (Urania), Justina (late Antonio), Dinis (Adelaide), Artur (Teresinha), Filomena, David, Margarida (Jose), Alfredo (Maria) and Laurinda. He was also cherished by many relatives and friends.
