He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Luis and Maria Jose Luis; and his siblings, Tony, Gloria, John and Margarida.

He is survived by: his wife Maria; his children, Maria (Tony Moreira), Lucy (Carlos Moura) and Dennis (Michelle Luis); his grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Nicholas, Stephanie, Christopher, Andrew, Alexander, Kayla, Sarah and Julia; and his siblings, Angelo, Maria Jose, Emilia and Conceicao. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
