He was predeceased by: his wife Eunice Duarte; his daughters, Lisa Duarte and Arlene Guenard; his parents, Francisco and Violeta; and his brothers, Ricardo, Frederico and Ruben.

He is survived by: his children, Lilia Figueiredo (Joe), Maria Batista (Peter), Helia Leslie, Elizabeth Tancredi (Ron) and Dean Duarte (Carmel); his son-in-law Marcel Guenard; his brothers, Gabriel Duarte (Fatima) and Jose Herculano Duarte (Noelia); his siblings-in-law, Maria Jose Vargas, Ilda Duarte, Luisa Duarte, Liduina De Vargas and Guilherme Da Rosa; his grandchildren, Stefany Placido, Nicole Skinner, Michael Figueiredo, Kathleen Aurora, Christopher Leslie, Sara Taylor, David Figueiredo, Megan Taylor, Ryan Aurora, Justine Guenard, Lindsay Guenard, Marcus Tancredi and Lucas Tancredi; and his great grandchildren, Alexis Bailie, Jakob Skinner, Madelyn Burmaster, Kameron Placido, Mackynzie Aurora, Mason Aurora, Everly Skinner, Elijah Cressman and Nolan Aurora. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
