He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Cornell Dale and Jane Sheridan; and his siblings, Don, Hazel, Allan, Marlene and Viola.
He is survived by: his son Bob; his brother Terence Leslie "Les" Dale; his children, Linda Dale (Norman Koehle), Roellen "Marion" Miller (Joe) and Gordon Dale (Kathy Kain); and his grandchildren, Colin, Sarah, Laurie, Jody and Benjamin. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
