He is survived by: his children, Jason Gontier and Amber Abrahim-Ali (Ansar Abrahim-Ali); his grandchildren, Angelo Gontier and Autumn Abrahim; and his sisters, Anne Blain (David Blain) of Cambridge and Jane Malczewski (Henry Malczewski) of Cambridge.
He was a long-time member of the YMCA where he swam and exercised daily until COVID-19 forced the closure of non-essential businesses in March of 2019.
