He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil and Ellen (Pearl); his sister Shirley (Lorne); his siblings-in-law, Lorne and Linda (Lyle); his nephew Paul; and his parents-in-law, Robert "Red" and Reta.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Gail Haines (Cook); his children, Lisa (Rob), Kim (Mike) and Julie (Jim); his grandchildren, Vanessa (Sara), Ryan (Kendra), Paige (Peter), Madison (Nathan), Phil (Corinna), Scott (Caryn) and Andrew; his siblings, John "Jack" (Marie), Fred (Gloria) and Mary; his sisters-in-law, Sharon (John) and Judy (Tommy); and his friends, Pat O'Brien, Al Glasgow, Tom Zylstra, Gary (Theresa), Bev, Bob, Jean, Marg (Bob) and Jim (Melissa).
