Sophia Malatches Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sophia Malatches (Cambridge, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 3, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Sophia departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Sophia may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Sophia leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her son Fred (Koula); and her husband James Malatches. She is survived by: her son Steve (Theodora); and her grandchildren, Sophia, Rina, Dimitri and Amelia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church.
