Sophia Malatches Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sophia Malatches (Cambridge, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 3, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her son Fred (Koula); and her husband James Malatches. She is survived by: her son Steve (Theodora); and her grandchildren, Sophia, Rina, Dimitri and Amelia.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (96 St Andrews St, Cambridge, ON N1S1M8). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Parklawn Cemetery (750 Fountain St N, Cambridge, ON N3H4R7). A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church.
