He is survived by: his significant other Marilyn Kean; his children, Steven Porter and Brenda Porter; his stepchildren, Joanne Ford (Randy), Donna Stoia (Claude), Amanda Williams (Winthrop) and Brian Kean (Mike); and his siblings, James Porter Jr., John Porter, Mike Porter, Nina Propper (Jeff) and Stewart Porter.
