He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pearson and Etta Pearson (Thompson); his in-laws, Forbes and Elsie Watson (Stephenson); his brothers, Alfred (Marj) and George (Kaye); and his siblings-in-law, George Watson and Marie Watson (Stafford).

He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Watson); his daughters, Susan (late Frank Wodz) and Linda; his grandchildren, Grant, Gregory (Tara) and Graeme; his great grandchildren, Summer and Autumn; his nephew Jim Pearson (Linda); and his nieces, Julie and Cheryl. He is also survived by cousins, extended family.

After moving to Cambridge in 1997, he spent many happy years golfing at Grand Valley until dementia and Alzheimer's took away his ability to continue, demonstrating his resilience and love for the game.
