He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Church and Margaret Church (Marr) of Fenelon Falls; and his siblings, John, Jan and Linda.

He is survived by: his sisters, Elayne Wardell (George) of Paris and Joan Church of Toronto; his stepdaughters, Sara Toms of Red Deer, Alberta and Erin Barkwell of Oshawa; his siblings' children, Glenn Wardell, Lynn Aitchison (Clinton), Rob Miedema (Shannon), Logan, Paige (Margot), Christy Hunt (Audrey), Dustin Minns (Maisie), Jordan Minns, Jacob Wardell (Ashley), Everett (Eden) and Nakita Minns (Jarrod Wardell); and his pet Boz.
