She is survived by: her parents, Fredrik Smit and Grace Smit; her spouse Mary Smit; and her children, Marguerite (Bill Hiemstra), Carla (John Bronsema), Irene (Tony VanderSpruit), Nancy (Ralph Huizinga), Norine (Michael Williams), Norma (Peter Molenaar), Janie (Bill Vanderwel) and Maryann (John Kuipers).
