We are sad to announce that, on March 15, 2026, Arend Smid (Chatham, Ontario) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Arend Smid to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his sister Florence (late John Dykstra); and his parents, John Smid and Jandine Smid (Buurma). He is survived by: his wife Willa Dale Smid (Meeks); his sons, Charles (Rhonda), John (Nadia), William (Christa) and Matthew; his grandchildren, Noah, Nathan, Ocean, Jacob, Jaida and Jasmine; and his siblings, Maynard (Susan), Peter (Grace) and Theressa (late Bert Lanting). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eben-Ezer Christian School.
