She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Donald Newman; her parents, Rita Veire and Amiel Van De Veire; her children, Chauntelle Dziver (Joseph), Shawn Newman (Lisa) and Shannon Brennan (Patrick); her grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan (Noah), Joshua, Emilie, Allison, Ashley and Amanda; her great grandchildren, George, Emma and Sophia; her siblings, Bob Van De (Lynn), Linda Fox (Ken) and Allan Van De Veire; her brothers-in-law, Marcel Birch, Jack Newman (Maureen) and Paul Newman (Kathy); her siblings, Christine Birch and Ronnie; and her sister-in-law Kathy Van De Veire.

She is survived by: her friends, Jeanette, Rose, Pat, Mary Lou, Nancy, Gloria and Sylvia. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Betty be made to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Dialysis Department.
