He was predeceased by: his parents, James Stirling and Harriet Stirling (Fellows); his significant other Helen Louise (Ogle); his half-brothers, Arthur and Reginald; his sisters, Ruth (Garnet Cleveland) and Jean (Harry Weir); his children-in-law, Craig Ebert and Jayne Parker-Stirling; and his granddaughter Lauren Stirling.

He is survived by: his children, James (Kathy), Glenda, Arthur and Reginald (Sonia); his grandchildren, Ian, Sandy (Emily), Erin Louise Stirling, Graydon (Jessica), Addison Ebert (Tracey), Chelsey Barlow (Nathan Chavis), Jeremy, Jocelyn, Keegan and Morgan Stirling; and his great grandchildren, Lyndon, Oliver, Winston, Malcolm, Benjamin, Theodore, Norah and Beckett. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
