He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Lopes (Barreira) and Joao Lopes; and his brothers, Antonio and Manuel. He is survived by: his spouse Arminda Lopes (Martins); his children, George Lopes (Angela) and Linda Balasin (Richard); his siblings, Albino Lopes (Adelaida), Maria Machado (Hernan) and Fernanda Lopes; and his sister-in-law Maria Lopes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
