He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Smith and Steve (Muriel Smith); his father-in-law Gilbert Van; his sister-in-law Breda; and his nephew Arran.
He is survived by: his wife Polly Smith; his son Stephen Gary; his brother Steve Smith; his nephew Stephen Patrick (Leanne); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Zak and Sienna; his mother-in-law Stella Van; and his close friend Jim Vidler. He is also survived by cousins and many friends.
