She was predeceased by: her parents, Hendrick Drijfhout and Grietje Drijfhout; her husband John Smids; and her son Wesley Smids. She is survived by: her daughters, Margaret Wassenaar (Len) and Linda Westerveld (Andrew); her grandchildren, Andrew (Natasha), Daniel (Mollie), Eric (Thalia), Nadine, Eryn (Micah), Jonathan, David (Kate) and Michael (Emily); her great grandchildren, Rowen, Maisy, Leo, Levi and Lennon; and her siblings, Hank Drijfhout, Dina Poortinga (Netherlands) and Jelly Muis (Netherlands).
