It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Engel Brouwer (Chatham, Ontario), who passed away on February 14, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his siblings, Harry DeVries and Jake Van Breda. He is survived by: his spouses, Teny Dekker and Teny Brouwer (Dekker) of Chatham; his children, Teresa Howe, Lawrence Howe of Hamilton, Arthur Brouwer, Marsha Brouwer of Chatham, Joyce Banninga, Carl Banninga of Dorchester, Bertina Hogeterp, Eric Hogeterp of Ottawa, Irene Janssen and Jeff Janssen of Chilliwack; his grandchildren, Jordan (Anastasia), Aaron, Ben, Miriam (Gianni), Nathan, Angela (Phil), Joel (Miriam), Allison (Josh), Michael (Will), Sarah, Esther (Diego), Jessica, Josiah, Joey, Corey, Caleb, Rebecca, Rachel, Christopher and Eden; his great grandchildren, Jackson, Cooper, Avery, Brynley and Cohen; and his siblings, Harry Brouwer, Helen Brouwer, Ann Dieleman, Jim Dieleman, Joanne DeVries, Henry Brouwer, Jane Brouwer, John Brouwer, Kathy Brouwer and Rhea Breda. He is also survived by his parents and siblings.
