The passing of Jean Simmons (Chatham, Ontario) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on August 18, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Brown and Mary Brown; her husband James Simmons; her son Steven Simmons; her in-laws, Charles and Edna Simmons; and her siblings, Betty Lee, Kenneth, Zelma (Vongray), Eleanor Ladd (Alvin), Lucille Ladd (Stan), Maida Hands (Randall) and Carol Bowman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sarah Tewkesbury (Jeff) and Rosemary Ellsworth (Scott); her grandchildren, Scott, Rachel, Natalie and Nicholas; and her friend Nana. She is also survived by her two daughters, son in laws, grandchildren, church family and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Union Baptist Church (10586 Union Line, Dresden, ON N0P1M0). A burial will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Maple Leaf Cemetery.
