He was predeceased by: his parent Tjeerd Ystma; and his brothers, Jelle of Chatham, Anne of Chatham, Frans of Chatham and Albert of Chatham.
He is survived by: his parent Trijntje Zwarts; his sons, Ron (MaryLynn) of Chatham, Harold of Chatham and Michael (Diana) of Chatham; and his grandchildren, Matthew (Tanya), Sarah (Brian), Chad (Ferren) and Cory.
