He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Malo and Arnold Malo; and his brother Ray. He is survived by: his wife Bernadette "Bernie" Miller; his children, Karen McDonald (Ian), Mary Jean Martin (Joe), John Malo (Pat), Denise Guglielmin (Tony) and Paul Malo (Deb); his grandchildren, Louise, Yvonne, David Martin, Kristen, Nicole, Mark McDonald, Laura Guglielmin, Tristan and Brennan Malo; and his brother Paul Malo. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
