He was loved and cherished by many people including : his father John Bultje; his wife Anna Bultje (Vander Gaag); his children, Phil (Janice), George (Tracy), Elsa Vanderveen (Stan), Richard (Yukyung), Jeff (Tracy Lucio) and Jim (Yvonne); and his siblings, Barbara, Linny, Bertha, Bert, Grace, Linda, Albert, Alberdine and Philip. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
