He was predeceased by: his parents, Kars Kroeze and Tryntje Kroeze. He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his sons, Wes Kroeze and Rick Kroeze; his grandchildren, Alexander Kroeze (Stephanie) and Liz Neilson (John); and his aunt Jean Plat.
