He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kees Wiebenga and Tryntje Wiebenga (Tillema); his wife Grace; his son Kevin Wiebenga (Melissa); his grandchildren, Charlie, Emma and Rae Lynn; his siblings, Sylvia De Haan (Paul), Tracie Vanderzwan (Martin) and Cliff Wiebenga (June); and his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Harmelink (Milton), Ron Steensma, Yvonne Clark (Ian) and George Steensma (Donna). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, friends.

Donations made in memory of John to the First Reformed Church would be appreciated by the family.
