She is survived by: her husband Peter Cooper; her children, Dakota Cooper and Sydney Cooper; her parents, Josephine Leach and Robert Leach; her brother Christopher Leach (Joscelynne); her nieces, Celynne and Carysse; her nephew Thomas; her parents-in-law, Lucie McTavish and John McTavish; her sister-in-law Michelle Michaud (Jason); her niece Brooke; her sister-in-law Shannon Sturdevant; her nephew Blaine; her niece Jennifer Land (Greg); her brother-in-law Jim McTavish (Celina); and her cousin Dawn Rice. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society in Kit's honour.
