Leo Edward Capeling Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leo Edward Capeling of Chatham, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 2, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Leo Edward Capeling to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Capeling and Myrtle Capeling (Marsh); and his grandson Paul Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Capeling (Mabee); his children, Brad Capeling (Anita), Kevin Capeling (Barbara) and Karen Wittum (Dan); his grandchildren, Sarah (Timothy), Heather (Robbie), Rachel (Jono), Christopher, Kyle (Danielle), Stephanie (Kevin), Holly (Andrew), Rebecca (Colin), Scott and Laura (Derek); and his brothers, Doug Capeling and Will Capeling (Jean). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the John C. Badder Funeral Home (72 Victoria St, Thamesville, ON N0P2K0). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Gideon Bibles or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
