He is survived by: his wife Henriette; his children, Larry De Smit and Deborah Brown; his grandchildren, Sara, Justin, Jordy, Victoria, Melissa, Quinn, Liam, Ethan and Duncan; his sister Pauline Brechtman (late Claus); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Agnes Bogaert (Brian), Peter VanWaterschoot (Linda), Carla Peterson (late Kent) and Mary Lou Van Daele (late Jerry). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
