She was predeceased by: her parents, Betty Carlsen (Waucaush) and Hjalmar Carlsen; her grandson Damon Carlsen; and her sibling's children, Brandon Sands and Leslie Carlsen.

She is survived by: her husband John Smith; her children, Randy Carlsen, Jason Carlsen (Michelle Balasin), Justin Carlsen (Jessica) and Ryan Carlsen; her grandchildren, Matthew, Keller, Autumn, Riker, Helena, Lincoln and Jensen; and her siblings, Brian Carlsen (Sue), Lynda Sands and Jackie Carlsen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
