He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Canniff and Doreen Canniff (Littlejohn); his brothers, Paul Canniff and Brent Canniff; and his father-in-law Leonard McFadden.

He is survived by: his wife Heather; his child Katelyn Canniff (David Slichter); his brothers, Craig Canniff (Barb) of Kingsville, Kevin Canniff (Janet) of Dresden and Darrin Canniff (Christine) of Chatham-Kent; his siblings-in-law, Curtis McFadden (Glenda), Beth Nevills (Ken) and Stuart McFadden (Tammy); and his mother-in-law Lorna (Keith Broad). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
