“I'm very saddened to hear of passing of someone I worked with/under for many years at Food Basics. Marty was a mentor, father figure (and a bit of tyrant sometimes lol) all rolled into one, he even stood up at my wedding. I never truly appreciated what he taught me about the grocery business until many years later when I became a Produce Mgr and eventually a Store Mgr. We hadn't seen each other since his retirement but when we were both in business he always stayed in touch in some form or fashion always with words of encouragement and telling me he was proud of my accomplishments. RIP Marty and thank you for everything you did for my career and for always being willing to listen and give advice on what can be a cut throat business but most of thank you for your friendship you be missed my friend...till we see each other again much love”
