He is survived by : his wife Ruth; his children, David Gleason (Dory Abosh), Paul Gleason (Diane Omar) and Karen Loney (Dan); his grandchildren, Nicole Gleason, John Gleason (Merissa Tannous), Jeffrey Loney (Delaney Bell), Rachael Loney, Coleman and Ryan Gleason; and his great grandchild Emmett Loney.

He never tried to use his authority against you, instead, persuading with his warmth, friendliness that came through in his smiles and laugh. “The true measure of a man is in how many lives he touched”. He was good-humoured, dedicated and energetic in trying to get us sometimes apathetic students in a (first) mixed boy/girl class involved in discussions.
