He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Ackert and Leigh Belleghem; his stepfather George Thompson; and his brother Keith Belleghem. He is survived by: his siblings, Kim Coulter (Gary), Jane Fraser, Valerie Burns (David), Robert Belleghem (Saskia), Leeanne Belleghem (Chris) and Michael Thompson (Sharla); his stepsiblings, Gary Boucher and Tammie Boucher Roi; and his stepparents, Alvin Ackert (Lynn) and Joan Belleghem (Leigh).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chatham Outreach for Hunger, the Chatham Kent Mental Health Association, and the CK Gay Pride Association.
