Regina Hoekstra Obituary

We bid farewell to Regina Hoekstra of Chatham, Ontario, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 26, 2025. Regina touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Thoss Hoekstra and Eertsche "Esther" Hoekstra; her sibling Sjoukina Bailes (Frank); her siblings-in-law, Pete Hoekstra (Rolina) and Mickey Hurst; and her sibling's children, Joe Colby and Audrey Spaling.

She is survived by: her husband Gerald Hoekstra; her children, Lori Schnurr (Rick) of Puslinch, Michelle Rounding (Dan) of Harrow, Jerry Hoekstra (Erin) of Merlin, Wanita Kostanjevec (Johnny) of Belle River and Danny Hoekstra (Missy) of Chatham; her siblings, Audrey VanderWeide (Al), Dirk Hoekstra (Esther) and Liz Colby (Bill); and her siblings-in-law, Jack Hoekstra (Ann), Shirley Singor (Frank), Andy Hoekstra (late Millie), Tina Schenk (Pete), Bill Hoekstra Cecile (late Millie), Sara Vreughdenhil (late Cor) and Billy Hoekstra (late Jean). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McKinlay Funeral Home (459 St Clair St, Chatham, ON N7L3K6). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.

Donations made in memory of Regina to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
