He was predeceased by: his parents, Anastasia "Stella" Kominek (Konecny) and Joseph Kominek; and his siblings-in-law, Marie Holmes, Helen Vsetula and John Vsetula.

He is survived by: his wife Annie Kominek (Cibulka); his children, Kim Belanger (Greg) and Kathy McMath (Brad); his grandchildren, Andrew Belanger, Aaron Belanger (Taylor Lemaire), Alexander McMath (Mackenzie Carter), Christen McMath and Kyle McMath; and his sister-in-law Georgina Oprsal of Michigan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
