With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roland Joseph Béchard (Chatham, Ontario), who passed away on September 17, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Roland departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Roland may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Roland leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Béchard (Myers) and Phillippe Béchard; and his siblings, Louis, Reginald and Anita Hewitt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home (156 William St S, Chatham, ON N7M4S8). A Mass was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (180 Wellington St W, Chatham, ON N7M5K4). A burial was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Anthony's Cemetery.
