He is survived by: his children, Joelle, Nathan, Andrew (Katie), Jordan, Austin Brown and Caleb Dionne-Brown; his grandchildren, Xavier and Ella; his friend Alicia Dionne; and his siblings, Isabella "Bunny" Steele, Chuck (Laurie), Tony, Tim and Melva Brown-Detailleur (Mark). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

“I became friends with Thom when he became a member of the Chatham Police. We often worked together and I recall his kindness and compassion for people. I was visiting Chatham last year, stopped into the Chatham-Kent police office and met Thom's son. Great that he's followed in his dad's footsteps, I'm sure Thom was proud.
