He was predeceased by: his father John Verkaik; his grandparents, Joris, Laurina Vanderham, Willem and Marie Verkaik; his uncles, Reindart, Frank Toirkens and Cliff McNally; and his aunt Wilma Hummel.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sklynn Verkaik (Johnny), Nikita Verkaik (Josh) and Sadie; his grandsons, Alexander and Christopher; his siblings, John Verkaik (Jen), Dorothy Verkaik (Chris) and Nina McCathern (Christopher); Alice Elizabeth Verkaik. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
