He was predeceased by: his children, Gerald Winkels and Ruby Brouwer; his children-in-law, Gerda Winkels and Tony Brouwer; his grandson Jared Brouwer; his grandson-in-law Robert Woodford; his siblings, Hendrick, Margje Wobben and Jentje Boesenkool; and his parents, Lucas Winkels and Ruby Winkels (Timmerman).

He is survived by: his spouse Henderientje "Doreen" (Schuit); his children, Luke of Burgessville, Elizabeth Nypiuk (Amal) of Annan, Henry (Christina), Doreen Zehr (Peter) of Wiarton, John (Karen) of Chesley and Evert (JoAnne) of Brantford; his sibling Aaltje Kuiper; and his sisters-in-law, Bertha Looyenga, Jannie Schuit and Jenny Bouman (Hank). He is also survived by his 32 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Ebenezer Free Presbyterian Church or Trinitarian Bible Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
