He was predeceased by : his parents, Garnet Bennett and May Bennett; his siblings, Alice, Fred (Betty), Jim and Dwight (Erma); and his nephew James.

He is survived by : his spouse Jean Bennett (Patterson); his children, Marie, John (Megan) and Miriam; his grandsons, Brian (Kaya) and Luke; and his siblings, Jack (Joan) and Molly (Ted). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
