He was predeceased by : his wife Lois (Sowerby); his brother Raymond; his parents, Fletcher Gibbings and Amy Gibbings (McBrien); his stepfather Mel Crich; his parents-in-law, Carl and Evelyn Sowerby (McAllister); and his siblings-in-law, Don Boone, Roberta Sowerby Fondly (Bobbie), Linda Gibbings, Iona Gibbings, Mel Crich and Nancy.

He is survived by : his children, Larry Gibbings, Sue Riley, Lynne Gibbings Davies, Randy Rier, Steve, Julie Gibbings, Wendy and Les Coleman; his grandchildren, Lee, Rochelle, Danny, Cindy, Matt, April, Robyn, Colin, Amy, Erin, Scott, Jordan, Jenna, Becky, Dave, Tim, Rach, Brittany and Brent; his great grandchildren, Ryan, Amy, Drew, Colin, Brett, Cameron, Bennett, Brock, Bryce, Keryn, Lucia, Callie, Chase, Avalyn, Isabella, Daniella, Cohen, Bria, Maggie, Reid, Everett and Grace; and his close friend Janet Hunking (family: Louise, Ron, Kathy, Debora, Bruce, Paige, Larry, Christy, Eric, Lorraine).
