He was predeceased by : his parents, John Pitts and Beatrice Pitts (Pauli); his daughter Sue Foster; and his siblings, Donny Pitts and Kathy Burton.

He is survived by : his wife Jean Pitts; his children, Jason Pitts (Chan) and Andrea Melville (Jason); his son-in-law Kevin Foster; his pet CoCo; his siblings, Jack Pitts (Mary Graham) and Carol Mohr (Wilf); and his siblings-in-law, Don Burton and Audrey Pitts. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
