He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Hoekstra and Ruth Westerhof Deeply (Frank Westerhof). He is survived by: his significant other Karen Boyle; his children, Danielle Halliday (Justin), Adam Hoekstra, Leslie Hoekstra and Andre Hoekstra; his grandchildren, Habel and Emmette Halliday; his stepchildren, Chantel Macklin (Jeramy), Cassie Doyle (Mike) and Luke Aird; his stepgrandchildren, Taylor, Brylee Macklin, Ivy, Lily and Rose Doyle; his siblings, Dick Hoekstra (Sharon), David Hoekstra (Wilhelmina), Bruce Hoekstra (Nancy), Sylvia Kempers (Gerrit), Jane Mott, Audrey Longwell, Annette Snoek (Art) and Caroline Hoekstra; and his stepsiblings, Debbie (Doug), Alida (Sue), Elizabeth (late Al), Jacob (Louise), John (Henrieke) and Emily (Dennis). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Grafton Legion Branch 580 (10240 Highway 2, Cobourg, ON K9A4J8).
