She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Simonds and Mary Simonds. She is survived by: her daughter Jennifer Houston; her brothers, David (Janice), Gary (Debbie), Russell (Elaine) and Donald (Gwen); her nieces and nephews, Kevin (Ashley), Lauren (Brian), John (Lorraine), Connor (Stephanie), Colin (Riley), Kristen, Grace (Nick), Andrew (Lee), Callum, Cameron, Brooke, Brynlee and Caden; and her pets, Rosie and Daisy.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation, and Northumberland Humane Society, would be welcomed by the family in Ruth's name.
