He was predeceased by: his siblings, Don and Bruce. He is survived by: his parents, Ross Brereton and Clarice (Munro); his spouse Leaside; his children, Ian (Susan) and Lisa (Jack Callaghan); his grandchildren, Luke, Kaiya, Ella and Amy; his sibling Mary Munroe (Paul); his sibling-in-law Robert Thompson (Vivian); and his wife Mary.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Alan's favourite charities the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital or Hospice Georgian Triangle would be appreciated.
