He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Zabel and Liesa Zabel. He is survived by: his wife Christine Zabel; his children, Adrianna Victoria Zabel and William Jeffrey Zabel; and his siblings, Bernd Zabel, Christa Buttonham and Doris Pezzi.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Fawcett Funeral Homes - Collingwood Chapel (82 Pine St, Collingwood, ON L9Y2N7). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
